David Ells, CFA, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Northwestern Mutual Series Funds, Inc. and Vice President of Investment Strategy & Portfolio Management of Northwestern Mutual Investment Management Company

David Ells represents Northwestern Mutual Investment Management Company, LLC and heads Investment Strategy, is Chairman of the Board of the Northwestern Mutual Series Funds, and serves as a Director of the Board of the Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company. His responsibilities include oversight of the company’s asset allocation process, as well as oversight of all tactical asset strategies and asset managers. His Department provides coordinated management of company’s composite investment portfolio related to active asset allocation/relative value, financial statement impacts, investment tax strategy, and investment subsidiary management. Previously, he worked for Mason Street Advisors, heading up the multi-asset class team and managing fixed income portfolios, while also serving as President of the Northwestern Mutual Series Funds. Prior to joining Mason Street Advisors in 2004, Mr. Ells was a Senior Vice President of Enterprise Advisors/Imagine Reinsurance and spent nine years at Guggenheim Capital in various roles. Mr. Ells received a B.A. degree in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Mr. Ells is on the board of directors of Milwaukee Center of Independence and is the president of The Milwaukee Winter Club Youth Hockey Organization.

Geoffrey Moore, Managing Director of Geoffrey Moore Consulting, Member of the Board of Directors of Infusionsoft, Akamai Technologies, and several pre-IPO Companies, Venture Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures

Geoffrey Moore is an author, speaker, and advisor who splits his consulting time between start-up companies in the Mohr Davidow portfolio and established high-tech enterprises, most recently including Salesforce, Microsoft, Intel, Box, Aruba, Cognizant, and Rackspace. Mr. Moore’s life’s work has focused on the market dynamics surrounding disruptive innovations. His first book, “Crossing the Chasm,” focuses on the challenges start-up companies face transitioning from early adopting to mainstream customers. It has sold more than a million copies, and its third edition has been revised such that the majority of its examples and case studies reference companies come to prominence from the past decade. Mr. Moore’s most recent work, “Escape Velocity,” addresses the challenge large enterprises face when they seek to add a new line of business to their established portfolio. It has been the basis of much of his recent consulting. Irish by heritage, Mr. Moore has yet to meet a microphone he didn’t like and gives between 50 and 80 speeches a year. One theme that has received a lot of attention recently is the transition in enterprise IT investment focus from Systems of Record to Systems of Engagement. This is driving the deployment of a new cloud infrastructure to complement the legacy client-server stack, creating massive markets for a next generation of tech industry leaders. Mr. Moore has a bachelors in American literature from Stanford University and a PhD in English literature from the University of Washington.

Bill Katz is Chairman of Visible World, the world’s leading technology network that allows the dynamic creation and distribution of video on television and the leading programmatic TV buying platform in the U.S. Earlier, Mr. Katz was President and Chief Executive Officer of BBDO Advertising in New York, the world’s third largest global agency network. Mr. Katz led the agency and at the time of his retirement, BBDO New York reported billings of $2.3 billion and a roster of clients which included AOL, Campbell’s, FedEx, Frito-Lay, GE, Gillette, Mars, Pepsi, Pfizer, Pizza Hut, Visa and more. Mr. Katz has worked on a variety of brands that have garnered countless awards both for creative excellence and marketing effectiveness. His stewardship of the Pepsi brands included campaigns featuring MTV-esque video spots starring Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Madonna, Brittany Spears, and Ray Charles. Mr. Katz was selected as a Charter inductee into the Advertising Hall of Achievement, and he is considered an authority on Branding, Marketing and Advertising, having made frequent appearances on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, CNBC, and other news programs. Mr. Katz has also lent his management expertise to a variety of pro-bono efforts including the “Vote America” campaign, working with Presidents Reagan and Bush (1) and the Partnership for A Drug-Free America. He recently created and produced the “While We’re Young” campaign for the United States Golf Association which featured Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Clint Eastwood and others, and Mr. Katz recently served on the Executive Committee and was Secretary of the United States Golf Association. He is a Director of comScore, Inc., a former member of the Advisory Board of the L.P.G.A., and a former Director of the Lazard Group.

Ms. Rhoades has a respected reputation in the industry for her creative approach to creating customer-centric cultures and is a popular speaker on the subject of customer service and how to build a strong high-performing culture. Ms. Rhoades has an MBA in Management from the University of New Mexico and her book “Built on Values” was released in January 2011.
